Tech Goals

Web development and tech are exciting. This field is constantly changing and improving. An overview of the history of tech, opened my eyes to how long tech has been around and how far it has come. All of the amazing uses of tech today are mind blowing. From maps on your phone to your phone being essentially a handheld computer. How can I not mention AI that can perform a plethora of tasks from research to writing poems. I recently heard about an AI restaurant that allows you to watch the robot prepare your food from start to finish.

I am excited that this field is looking towards diversifying. For a long time tech was mostly a male dominated field; now employers are looking to hire people of color and women. I believe that tech is a group effort. The more people to collaborate with the better the outcome. A different set of eyes can open you up to a new perspective. Someone can bring to your attention a need or problem that you can work on meeting or solving. Speaking of solving problems; errors can occur often in tech and web development, a fresh pair of eyes can help to spot your mistake. So in summary, I am really excited for the diverse group of people that can be collaborated with for tech.

I can always have plans and goals but, we never truly know where life will take us. I plan on being in the tech field and continuing my education. I would like to create a website and an app. I am still thinking of the kind of app and website I would like to build. I will also like to build websites and apps for others.

The field in tech that I would like to be in is User Experince Design or Web Development. I want to work with a team to build a website or improve on an app that makes it more inclusive and easy to use. The programming language I want to learn is Java, JavaScript and Python. In conversations about tech I often hear these programming languages come up. With my tech skills I want to be able to build websites and work with the needs of companies. I want to keep on advancing my tech skills.

Everyone has their struggles. I like to focus on the positive but the truth is we live in reality. In order to strive for realism and transparency, I will have to admit I struggle with confidence. I am questioning, do I really belong in the tech field? Will I thrive in the tech field? Will I find my community in the tech field? Is there space for women in this field? Especially someone of an ethnic background that does not come from wealth. Will I be relatable? I guess the common ground is tech. I want to strive hard to be knowledgeable if not an expert in this field. Computers have always fascinated me. This intrigue has led me to want to know more about computers. Troubleshooting and problem solving is where I know I will shine the most. I guess it is important to focus on your strong suits to build confidence. Another confidence builder I want to explore is knowledge. There are so many tools, and a lot of them are free, that allow you to learn tech. I want to utilizes these avenues to always keep learning.
